For businesses who may not provide health benefits, but wish to show employees they care about their health and wellbeing, Galileo offers a Gift Card redemption program. Cards may be used to activate Galileo’s and/or its affiliated Medical Groups’ services.

Galileo Business Gift Card Terms and Conditions

  1. About Your Cards. The Cards are prepaid gift cards. By purchasing the Cards, you agree to these Gift Card Terms and Conditions. The Cards allow your employees to access funds loaded to the Cards by an employee’s employer. You may elect who to distribute the Card to and when, or you may have Galileo, Inc. (Galileo) deliver the Card directly to your employee on your behalf. The Cards do not constitute a checking or savings accounts, and the funds are not insured by Galileo. The Cards are not credit cards and cannot be redeemed for cash, nor may they be used to access cash at an ATM. The Cards may be used to purchase Galileo’s and/or its affiliated Medical Groups’ services, as well as at any participating merchant.

  2. Confidentiality. Galileo may disclose information to third parties about your Card Account or the transactions you make: (1) Where it is necessary for completing transactions; (2) In order to verify the existence and condition of your Cards for a third party, such as merchant; (3) In order to comply with government agency or court orders, or other legal reporting requirements; (4) If you give us your written permission; or (5) To our employees, auditors, affiliates, service providers, or attorneys as needed. Information you provide while purchasing the Cards will be subject to and governed by Galileo’s Privacy Policy, as updated by Galileo from time to time in its sole discretion. 

  3. Taxation. Galileo does not advise on the taxation of the Cards. You should check with a tax attorney as to whether the Cards are “compensation” and should be reported as imputed income to the recipient employees, but note that gift cards typically represent taxable income with regard to the fair market value (not the discounted price) to an employee recipient. Galileo is not responsible for reporting taxation amounts on behalf of your employees. 

  4. Employee Benefit Programs. Galileo does not advise on status of the Cards with regard to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), wellness programs or any laws impacting employee benefit programs. Please check with counsel with regard to employer compliance obligations.
